You guys have become masters at manipulating quietly shifting moods and floating into nooks and crannies any original groove ever intended. The seamless flow is amazing and the mood is never sacrificed once, despite the ever changing variety. The ideas and interplay ooze naturally and your color palette - especially for a trio - is simply amazing. CE has become one of our favorite groups (REALLY), and we just can't say enough about this one. 88.1 and 102.4 (especially the guitar-like keyboard) are first listen favorites but there's not one (not ONE) bad, dull or insincere moment on the entire set. Amazing! You guys should be proud! All the best!

Catasto Elettrico and the Tale of 'The Great Art Jackson Hoax' (2007-2008)

We knew it: the world is a place where everything can happen, and every little community grows its own legends... We didn't knew it: recently, for a pair of months, a bunch of guys in a forum argued if... :-)))))) ... Art Jackson was Catasto Elettrico! They fought one against the other even using high tones and, here and there, some unfair words for us - misleading self-promoters! - too... If you have the time and patience to read the whole story (37 replies) it's a gas, a kind of thriller: somebody made a research in the whole back history of Totally Fuzzy, someone else discovered some twenty years old magazine, and at the end some smart guy with a Perry Mason attitude was finally able to assure that the hidden truth was revealed: Art Jackson is actually not Catasto Elettrico. Thank you guys, we are finally very less worried about it, and glad to know we are not Art Jackson and Art Jackson is not us... And so, finally in peace with ourselves, we can repost Gout here, just in case somebody has lost this witness of the Net's content reliability (and hoping no other amazed guy will have some more time to waste...)

WE'RE LATE FOR CLASS

A Collection

A great indie improvisation band. They seem to follow the same path we choose for our music developement and have a cool characteristic: they are creative enough not to be a simple repetition of their patterns, but not afraid to show them, as we're not afraid to list ours. We are proud, moreover, to be the first not self-penned music they posted on their own homepage. In return to this honour we can only post one of their albums, a collection of some representative tunes selected from their former 19 works. They also have one release featuring the most original album title ever seen around: 'Set The Controls For The Heart of The Sun' As Played By Vanilla Fudge Imitating Iron Butterfly When Fudge Were Forced To Open For Butterfly At The Fillmore West After In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida Went Top Ten'. TALKING ABOUT THE BITRATE...
A word about bitrates: this issue is totally out of bound in my opinion. Everybody is doing 320 kbs now, which isn´t really necessary and simply blows up the amount of data. In reality it´s the quality of the source material and the quality of the encoding program which makes for the quality of the mp3. I have a lot of rips in 128 kbs, which I keep that way because they are absolutely sufficient. Usually I do 192 kbs, because there is a slight, but listenable improvement in quiet passages. Everything above that isn´t useful. We did tests with very (very!) good equipment. Ordinary people couldn´t even tell, which one was the mp3 with 128, and which one was the CD. Trained people can do that, but they couldn´t with mp3s in 192 kbs versus 320 kbs. Very few could tell the difference between the two in a direct source a/source b test.The issue is getting religious, as is the discussion vinyl versus CD. What´s really silly about the whole thing is the fact, that some people now blow up their old 128 kbs mp3s to 320kbs, which isn´t of any use at all.
